Crazy To Leave You
by Marilyn Simon Rothstein

Very enjoyable book! Told in the first person by Lauren Leo, who was left at the altar by her fiance, Eric. How she took control of her life and dealt with her family and work is a humorous, heartwarming story. Very relatable characters! Anne Einbond-Paley

Cagney and Lacey were Sharon Gless and Tyne Daley’s claim to fame. The tv cop show lasted six seasons. Sharon claimed to be a working alcoholic and also used drugs on many occasions.

Walking With Sam
by Andrew McCarthy

View in Library Catalog

This is the story of this teen actor (now best selling author and travel enthusiast) returning to Spain for a 500-mile walk with his 19 year old son. Andrew walked this path about 25 years earlier and he expresses both experiences with joy and awe. I loved the parent perspective Andrew gives to the adventure and the stories of the duo on the road with other pilgrims. Another unexpected terrific book.

Hello Beautiful

A great story about 4 sisters growing up in Chicago. Love and loss and belonging and separation.

Just A Regular Boy
by Catherine Ryan Hyde

After losing his wife a father takes his young son into the wilderness as survivalists. How very disturbing to me. The boy, Remy, doesn’t understand why. The dad dies and leaves Remy to survive on his own. He becomes a wild child, trying to make it to Canada. He finds a small town where a resident watches for him, leaving water, and where he begins stealing food from a convenience store. Luckily, a woman with two adopted children learns about him and as the story unfolds, she tries to foster him.

Same Time Next Summer
by Annabel Monaghan

Another great beach read from Annabel Monaghan! The book is set on Long Island which is always nice. Old loves, new loves. Love triangles. All the trials and tribulations of a summer romance. Not quite as good as "Nora Goes Off Script" but I enjoyed it.

Shadow Rider
by Christine feehan

Ooooh, lots of sex with some hot characters. Shadow Riders can ride the shadows and become invisible. The Ferraro family of 4 brothers and a sister take care of their section of Chicago. They start training when toddlers. Francesa Capello has lost everything and has been living on the streets until her friend Joanna invites her to live near her just outside the territory of the Ferraros. Stefano Ferraro falls fer Francesca on sight and takes her for his own, living in his penthouse in the hotel he owns. Together with his siblings, they kill Francesca's sister's murderer, befriend the elderly, watch out for the homeless, etc. So they aren't werewolves or vampires but a new take on mysterious beings. I'll definitely read the next book in the series.

I Have Some Questions for You
by Rebecca Makkai

This book did not live up to my expectations. Bodie is hired to teach a class at the boarding school she attended. She revisits old ghosts as she tries to figure out who killed her then roommate Thalia. If you read this book be ready for lots of characters, lots of timeline jumping, lots of random murders described and most importantly no satisfying conclusion.

On Fire Island
by Jane L. Rosen

View in Library Catalog

I have mixed feelings about this book. The narrator is Julia who has just died way too young. Yes, the narrator is deceased and she is intent on watching over her grieving husband Ben until she knows he'll be okay. Ben escapes to their Fire Island home hoping to avoid people but as you know things don't always turn out as expected. The book is written with humor as you find out their story and the stories of those around them.
