Night Elves of Ardani
by Nina K Westra

I loved this book. I was totally drawn in from the beginning. I loved the star-crossed lovers vibe, and the language barrier trope. I also loved the lore and creepy sentient forest! Can’t wait for more of this series.

The Wishing Game
by Meg Shaffer

This was a very nice book. It started off a little slow, but I liked how the plot and storyline picked up in the middle of the book. The author was a little too pushy with the main character's reason to win the game and it seemed so wrong. It had a sweet ending which is what any reader wants.

The Child I Never Had
by Kate Hewitt

A very powerful, emotion-packed story of two families and decisions made by both. A child is adopted and the birth and adoptive mothers agree to an open adoption where the birth mother will be in contact with the child. This creates stresses that lead to decisions that are not always in everyone’s best interest. These decisions then lead to a moving finale, hopefully, resolving, at least, some of the familial conflicts.

Sometimes I Lie

Amber has been in a terrible accident and is in a coma. She can still hear what's happening around her but cannot communicate. Her thoughts keep going back to her childhood and her family while alternating with trying to figure out how she ended up in the hospital. I usually love Ms. Feeney's psychological thrillers, but this one left me cold.

A great story about 4 sisters growing up in Chicago. Love and loss and belonging and separation.

You Could Make This Place Beautiful
by Maggie Smith

What a wonderful, moving, special book. There was prose, poetry, snippets of a life that was fulfilling and unraveling all at the same time. Ms. Smith examines her marriage and subsequently her divorce and what it means to be a woman, wife and mother. I loved taking the journey with this writer and her book and I will need to read more of her work (ideally her story telling) in the future.

Wicked Fox

I loved this book! All the threads came together in such an unexpected way. If the MCs mom had not kept her secrets, so much drama could have been avoided. She loved her daughter, but her pride got in the way of a fully trusting relationship. But I’m excited for whenever book two comes out!

Upon his return, Rhys is plagued with mishaps. As it turns out, Vivi is a stronger witch than she realizes and the hex that was placed long ago was real. Can Rhys survive the hex, save the town and win Vivi’s heart? I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read.

Historical Fiction that takes place in Philadelphia and Washington D.C. Two young women, Ruby age 14 and Eleanor, college student are growing up in the 1950s. Their lives collide. Will their dreams be sidelined? I wondered why the book was titled House of Eve. Who is Eve? The answer about the title is embedded in the story. Shade q a wrote the book in honor of her Mother, Grandmother, and ancestors. Another ‘cannot put this book down’, that kept me
